You will find your library number on the back of your library card, beneath the barcode.<\/p>

The password is set by default and, since March 2020, consists of the date of birth in the format DDMMYY. For user accounts created prior to this, the default password is the first four letters of the surname (umlauts are removed and all letters are in lower case).<\/p>

To make full use of the collections of the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt, you must register. You can do this in person at the Local library<\/a> or online.<\/p>

In addition to members and affiliates of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, anyone aged 14 or over may be granted access to the University and State Library. Minors are asked to present a written consent<\/a> of the legal representative. Upon registration, the Terms and Conditions of Use for the University and State Library<\/a> recognised.<\/p>

State library users (non-university members) must register in person at the local lending desk (August-Bebel-Stra\u00dfe 50). Upon presentation of the registration form and an official form of photo ID, you will be issued with a library card. State library users who register online will receive their library card, along with the necessary login details for their library account, from us at the Local library<\/a> or by post if you do not live in Halle.<\/p>
