Franckeplatz Branch Library (Ha 10)

Since 2002, the Franckeplatz branch library has been housed in a new library building in the Hans Ahrbeck House on the grounds of the Francke Foundations. In addition to an extensive collection of research literature on the subjects covered by the library, the branch library also holds a selection of children’s and young adult books for use in the classroom.

Access to House 31 at weekends is only possible with a user card.

Jobs

Here you will find 138 workstations, two computer workstations, and connections for laptops (USB chargers, LAN sockets). There is also a scanner and a ScanTent available.

There is a top-up machine or payment terminal in the foyer of Building 31 on the left, next to the ticket validation machine. You can use the following cards at the top-up machine: EC card, giro card, credit card, debit card or mobile phone.

Use of individual or group rooms

Eight individual study spaces (carrels) can be booked using the form for allocating a Private office(Carrel) can be reserved for a period of 4–8 weeks. For 8 weeks, the Registration for the final examination necessary.

Two group study rooms can be used by study groups without booking.

Accessibility

The branch library is accessible to all. There are lifts both in the building and within the library. In addition, there is an accessible „all-gender“ toilet in the foyer leading to the library.

The Subject specialists are experts in providing information within their respective specialist fields. They are responsible for building up and developing subject-specific collections and provide support with the search for and use of academic information.
