Classical Antiquity Branch Library (Ha 26)

Since 1927, the branch library has been housed in the Robertinum on Universitätsplatz, a building originally constructed between 1889 and 1891 to house the Archaeological Museum. Today, it brings together under one roof the Department of Classical Studies, the branch library and the Archaeological Museum.

Accessibility

Access to the building is not wheelchair-accessible. There is also no lift. The rooms can only be reached via a flight of stairs.

Here you will find 59 workstations and two computer workstations. A scanner is also available.

The Subject specialists are experts in providing information within their respective specialist fields. They are responsible for building up and developing subject-specific collections and provide support with the search for and use of academic information.

Subjects

Classical Philology / Medieval and Modern Latin / Classical Archaeology / An old story including auxiliary historical disciplines such as numismatics, epigraphy and papyrology

 

The library’s holdings are predominantly arranged on open-shelf shelves according to the library’s own classification system. In the fields of Classical Archaeology, Numismatics, Epigraphy and Papyrology, the separation by format (format-based arrangement) should also be noted.
