Estates and autographs
The ULB’s collections contain over 50 estates of eminent scholars from the 18th to the 21st century. These often include correspondence, manuscripts of works and personal documents belonging to the donors, which are of great value to research. In addition, the ULB holds over 700 autographs from some 380 figures, ranging from Emil Abderhalden to Matthäus Zuber.
The following list contains estates that have been made available for research and prepared for consultation in the Reading Room for Historical Collections, and which are indexed via a detailed catalogue:

Individual collections held by the ULB, as well as some of the autographs, are fully catalogued within the Kalliope network, which enables a comprehensive search for individual items or people.
When researching the autograph collection, it is advisable to also consult the handwritten catalogue (from page 203) and to contact the Historical Collections Department: historische-sammlungen@bibliothek.uni-halle.de.
In the University Archives and at the German Oriental Society (DMG) Estates are also held here.
