Academic writing is a fundamental skill in academic work. The University and State Library provides a wide range of support in this area through courses and advisory services. Whether the focus is on AI in the writing process or on overcoming writer’s block, the library is constantly expanding its range of services.

Open writing consultation
Twice a week, we run an open writing consultation session on all aspects of academic writing. Whether you need help choosing a topic, formatting your work or citing sources correctly – just pop in without an appointment if you’re having trouble with your writing project.
Our dates:
On Tuesdays, Heide-Süd Branch Library, 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm (lounge area on the 1st floor)
On Thursdays, Steintor Campus Branch Library, 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm (please follow the signs inside the building)
