Library in a nutshell: Everything you need to get started with your studies

Even if you access the textbook digitally from home via a VPN and do not set foot in the library: without the library, it would be unthinkable to have access to the study and research materials you need on a daily basis.

The library will support you throughout your studies. Time and again, you’ll ‚stumble across‘ the library (either in person or online): from borrowing a textbook, to consulting a course collection in one of the many branch libraries, to carrying out research for term papers and dissertations – to name but a few scenarios.

Not least, the library is an important place of learning at the university: whether in a quiet setting, in a group study room or in the Active Learning Space – the library is always a popular destination. And it is so much more than that…

Can’t make it to the lecture theatre at that time? Don’t worry: just go to the other one instead On-site appointment (Thursday, 8 October, 11.00 am).

We also offer guided tours of the Law Branch Library (located directly on Universitätsplatz, in the Juridicum). The 30-minute tours start on Wednesdays at 10.30 am (German/English) and 11.15 am (German), and on Thursdays at 12.30 pm (German/English) and 1.15 pm (German).
