Collections
The University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt has collections on specific scieintific, regional and historical topcis. You will find additional information and research options on the following pages.
- The historical collections of the University and State Library Saxony-Anhalt contain valuable holdings of manuscripts, research papers, graphics and newspapers.
- The map collection of the ULB includes more than 40.000 maps and multi-page cartographies. In addition, a selection of historical and modern atlases as well as cartographic literature is maintained.
- The DFG Special Information Service Near Eastern, North African and Islamic Studies (FID) has been at the University and State Library since the beginnng of 2016. It is the follow-up project of the Special Subject Collection Middle East, incl. North Africa , which was funded by the DFG between 1998 and 2015. The FID's tasks include the acquisition and provision of printed media as well as the licensing of electronic media from the countries and in the languages of the region of Arabic-speaking North Africa, the Near and Middle East, Central Asia and the Caucasus countries. The virtual library of the Middle East/North Africa - MENALIB - provides detailed information about the services and holdings of the Special Information Service.
