The Branch Library Heide-Süd as a Learning Space

Content

If you were looking for a cool place to study during the hot summer days of the past few weeks, you were able to find it in the branch library Heide-Süd (Ha 4) on the campus carrying the same name.

Here you find the holdings of the natural sciences: from mathematics and computer science to life sciences, chemistry and pharmacy, as well as sports and agricultural sciences. Our textbook collection on the second floor offers the relevant study literature for all subjects – there are enough copies of every textbook. On the other floors, you find more specialised literature of each subject. Many books and journals are not only available in print but also digitally. It is usually possible to access e-media from within the reach of the campus wifi. Should you do not want to bring your own laptop, you can also use the computers in our training room.

If you do not wish to work with the available holdings, but instead are simply looking for a quiet place to study, you are welcome to do so. In addition to the large reading room on the third floor, the branch library also offers individual workplaces on all floors. Those who like it even more quiet, have the possibility of reserving one of the coveted carrels for a longer period of time – for example, for theses or dissertations – per email.

Collaborative work in groups is also possible. The Active Learning Space is one of our newly established learning rooms, where you can exchange ideas on topics as well as learn and work together. The technical equipment of the learning space supports you in this endeavour. The Active Learning Space is available for use without prior registration.

The branch library Heide-Süd is not only interesting for those who want to research and learn about scientific issues. At our place, there is always a cool (working) place free!
