Citavi

Citavi is a reference management programme that helps you search for and organise literature and information. It allows you to collect and annotate texts and bibliographic data from online catalogues, databases, websites and PDF files. With the Word add-in and Publication Assistant, it is possible to add citations and bibliographies directly within a word processor without having to switch between programmes.

A special feature of Citavi is Citavi Web, a browser extension that can be used independently of the desktop app.

Martin Luther University has acquired a campus licence for the Citavi Team literature management system. Staff and students at our university can use this powerful programme for studying, teaching and research, both at work and at home.

The Citavi and Citavi Web licence is valid until September 2027.

The use of Citavi 6 is linked to a cloud service. An overview of the new features is available on the Citavi website.

When using the software, please be aware that the data protection standards and conditions established by LUMIVERO may not comply with EU requirements. Please bear in mind that the use of proprietary software via campus licences is subject to temporary licence agreements concluded between the university and the software companies. If you are no longer a member of the university (e.g. if you are moving to another university), or if the licence agreement is no longer valid (if the university does not renew the agreement, e.g. due to changed conditions or data protection concerns, etc.), you will lose your authorisation to use the software via the campus licence. It is therefore very important to check and back up your data regularly.
