Subject Specific Services

The University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt offers a wide range of subject specific services for students and researchers, including special services for the various subject disciplines.

This service is supported by designated subject specialists with profound knowledge of the respective subject discipline, therefore being perfectly suited to provide individual advice to users. The focus in this case lies on supporting the users in their research of literature, imparting information competence on users as well as training them in the use of subject-specific databases and journals.

Another service offered especially by our library  is mostly concentrated on Middle Eastern, North African and Islamic studies: The Subject Information Service (FID). The FID is a service launched by the German Research Foundation to facilitate access to digitised specialist literature. Library users can use this service to access cross-regional, national and international article databases and subject portals to find and order relevant academic literature.
