Collect + Preserve
A core challenge as a state library is the collection and conservation of literature dealing with or originating from the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt to permanently safeguard its valuable, old and rare historical holdings, to make them accessible to the public, to make them available for research and to preserve them for future generations. In doing so, the ULB relies on both conservation of the original condition as well as digitisation measures in order to preserve the treasures from past times for the future.
