Funding for open access articles

The MLU Publication Fund supports staff members of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Halle (Saale) University Hospital by covering the publication costs (Author Publication Charges, APCs) of open-access journal articles. Please note our transformation contracts and the MLU Open Access Policy.

Application steps

  1. Check whether the eligibility criteria are met.
  2. Submit an application using the form. The ULB then endeavours to check eligibility as quickly as possible. Acceptances or rejections should generally be communicated within one week.

  3. Please pay invoices over 3,000 € yourself first and then apply to the ULB for refund of the maximum amount. For publication fees of less than €3,000 (including VAT), please enter the ULB’s billing address at the bottom of this page straight away.

  4. Under the DEAL contracts with the publishers Wiley, Springer Nature and Elsevier, all costs for Gold Open Access publications are covered in full.
