This site offers information on the Database Information System (DBIS), the German Union Catalogue of Serials (ZDB) and the Electronic Journals Library (EZB).

Database Information System (DBIS)

The DBIS lists freely accessible as well as licensed databases, reference works and bibliographies. In this system, you have the option to search the database holdings of the ULB as well as those of other academic libraries. The access options are indicated by differently coloured traffic light symbols.

German Union Catalogue of Serials (ZDB)

The ZDB records titles and library inventory information of serial publications and other continuing resources in printed and electronic form, such as publication series, specialist journals, periodicals, newspapers, etc. In this system, you have the option to research the holdings of the ULB as well as those of other academic libraries. Please note that it is not possible to search for individual articles in this database.

Electronic Journals Library (EZB)

The EZB is a freely accessible bibliographical database recording scientific journals in electronic form. In this system, you have the option to research the holdings of the ULB as well as those of other academic libraries sorted by subject. The access possibilities for full-text articles are indicated by different coloured traffic light symbols. Please note that it is not possible to search for individual articles in this database.

The access options to full-text articles are indicated by different coloured traffic light symbols. Many publishers regulate access to fee-based online journals by checking the IP address of the requesting computer. If the licence conditions allow it, the ULB requests campus-wide access for the electronic journals in order to guarantee access from all computers in the Martin Luther University IP domain.

The following generally applies to paid full-text offers:

  • Access is only permitted to members of Martin Luther University.
  • The full texts of the articles may only be printed or saved for personal use and for research purposes.
  • Systematic downloading of articles or search results is prohibited.
  • Articles may not be passed on to third parties either electronically or in print.
