The soccer match between Spain and Germany was a big competition. Nevertheless, many took the opportunity to take a look at the Steintor-Campus branch library (branch library of the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt) as part of the “Long Night of Science”. Guided tours through the branch library gave an impression of how libraries are modernizing, what learning and lounge options are in demand in libraries today, and what new tasks are arising for libraries as a result.
We ended up discussing all of this. The visitors were as diverse as their interests and questions were wide-ranging: from the current conditions of use, to working in a library, to ventilation and lighting concepts, we were able to answer questions and provide a glimpse behind the scenes.
