LaTeX – Professional Formatting of Scientific Texts – Introduction

26.08.2025
14:00 - 17:00

If formatting scientific texts with common writing programs doesn’t give you the results you want, or if you want well-formatted documents without worrying about the usual guidelines, or if you need to apply unusual formatting requirements that are difficult to implement with other programs, then this course is for you.

In our introductory training, you will get to know the typesetting program LaTeX. We will teach you the basics of LaTeX so that you know how to use it for different projects (e.g., essays, theses). You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge practically during the training, so by the end, you will have created a document that you can use directly for future writing projects.

If you are writing a scientific paper and have already received formatting guidelines, feel free to bring them with you, and we will try to integrate them directly.

For organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to register in advance via the Stud.IP course.

If you do not have access to Stud.IP, please contact us at learnit@bibliothek.uni-halle.de.

This event will take place in person. Please bring your own device (e.g., laptop) to the session so that you can use the software.

Further information about the room will be provided.

Please note: This event will be held in German.
