Web of Science & Co. Databases in Humanities and Social Sciences

Researching databases is an important component of any literature search. Databases offer an almost endless amount of information for the humanities and social sciences. Obtaining relevant results in complex systems is not a given. How are databases structured and what are wildcards, Boolean operators and truncations about? The course is providing an overview on how to find relevant databases for your own research, on the basics of successful database research and will introduce various search strategies by presenting different databases.

For organisational reasons, pre-registration is required. Please use the corresponding Stud.IP course for this purpose.
