Mendeley

Mendeley is a commercial software programme for reference management. It can be used either as a desktop application on Windows, macOS and Linux, or as a web interface accessible via all common browsers, regardless of the operating system. Mendeley is also available as a mobile app for Android and iOS.

With Mendeley, references and notes can be organised in a database and shared and edited within private groups. Bibliographies can be created and edited in the most common word processing programmes (including Microsoft Word, Pages (Apple), LibreOffice and LaTeX). You can choose between existing or custom citation styles. Mendeley supports the import of bibliographic data and full texts. In addition, the database can be automatically updated with new references via the Watch Folder function. Cloud storage means Mendeley can be used synchronously across all devices.

Please note: The software is currently managed by Elsevier, which in turn is owned by RELX, a company headquartered in London, UK. You must register before using the programme. Registration and use are currently free of charge for up to 2 GB of cloud storage. The ULB does not offer licences exceeding this basic package.
