New DEAL contracts with Wiley and Springer Nature

Content

New DEAL contracts with Wiley and Springer Nature for 5 years signed by DEAL consortium.

After recently concluding a contract with the publisher Elsevier, two new DEAL contracts were signed with the publishers Wiley and Springer Nature in the last few days, as announced.

These will start in 2024 with a term of 5 years.

Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg has been participating in contracts with both publishers since 2019 and 2020 respectively. Participation in the new contracts is currently being prepared.

This enables open access publishing for corresponding authors of the institution in a large number of journals of the publishers and there is reading access to almost the entire portfolio of journals.

A new feature of the contracts is that the costs of the institutions are no longer based on a historical subscription price, but after a transitional period of 2-3 years will result in pure publication-based billing.
